Let’s begin with 3 Factoids on closing a sale.

1. In the traditional sales scenario, 80% of your prospects will say no to your initial offer to purchase your product or service.

2. Pareto’s Principle, also known as, the 80/20 rule says that 80% of all of the sales are closed by 20% of the salespeople.

3.  Whenever two people are having a conversation, one is buying and the other one is selling.

Recently, I attended a My Lead System Pro, MLSP Webinar for MLM Leaders, hosted by Jeffrey Combs from Golden Mastermind Seminars, where he covered some key points on the Psychology of Closing a Sale.

Everyone starts off nervous and apprehensive until you develop your skills, talents, inspiration, as you learn how to sort people and become a professional.  Let go of perfection, let go of worrying about the outcome, learn how to get over yourself and get in the game.

The biggest challenge is going to be overcoming your left brain because it is always going to drive you to do whatever you have to do to avoid pain.  Get leverage on yourself by focusing on the pain you will experience if you do not take action.

The picture and frame of reference that ought to resonate in your mind regarding the Psychology of Closing a Sale is the of James Bond, 007.  It does not matter what situation James is in, he is cool, prepared, extremely confident and absolutely sure that he is going to get the girl; in our case, the sale.

People buy from people they know, like and trust.  In order to get some one to like and trust you, you need to connect with and build rapport with that lead or prospect.  The reality is that master closers focus on becoming master connectors.  They connect and do not sell. So how do you do that?  You learn to ask questions, question that establish a connection.  You see, people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Focus on their needs and the solution to those needs.  You start with small talk based on fact finding and rapport building.

Use FORM, Family, Occupation, Recreation, Message to guide you through the topics to cover in the conversation.  Listen for the curious versus the serious and ask genuinely caring questions to establish and develop that connection.

Closing the sale is in art form and you start closing early and often with trial closes in the form of caring questions that get them to say yes, over and over again.

People want to be led and they want leadership. Apply these principles and you will be the leader that provides solutions to their problems by connecting and closing.

Forum marketing is an excellent way for entrepreneurs and internet business owners can use to promote their product, idea and drive traffic to their site. Forum Marketing is a very popular free advertising method on the internet today and MLM Leaders such as Jonathan Budd shared on one of his videos stated that it is one of his favorite Free MLM Systems and strategies.

All it takes is some time and effort on your part, consistently, on whatever discussions are going on that day. A quick warning is that you are not allowed to discuss your business anywhere on the post itself, as this is considered spamming and can get it deleted and you banned from the forum. Warning aside, There are five excellent reasons why Forum marketing works great for many website owners.

1. Forum members typically list problems and whenever you post a response, you are helping someone else get closure to their issue. This will lead to you feeling a sense of satisfaction as you have done something to help a fellow member.  Extending a helping hand is a positive gesture of adding value and usually leads to you  receiving down the road. Most times when you give to a peer, there is a sense of gratitude that may send them to your signature line and they will visit your site.

2. As you become more involved in the Forum, you will also learn a lot of valuable and very useful information for absolutely no cost to you. When you first join a forum it is a good idea to check out the forum for anywhere from a couple of days to a week until you get a feel for the environment.  As you soak in other people’s posts, you will be amazed at the amount of free information that you will receive.  You will also be able to turn that knowledge into a valuable tool to increase your forum marketing campaign.

3. Free advertisement is yours via the signature line.  As you begin to post and establish a following on the forums, members will begin to see your signature line, remember that you are a person that adds value and click on it, which leads them directly to your website. Over time, you will see how this free advertising can add up to a lot of profit through the sales to members of the forum.

I recently participated in a Direct Marketing course with guru Mark Hoverson where he covered Nine Killer Video Marketing Tips and Techniques that will increase your conversion rates, connection, rapport and sponsorship of your leads or prospects.  I hope he does not get mad at me for sharing some of his MLM Secrets.

So here we go,

1.  Whether you are an MLM Leader that is part-time or full-time in network marketing, look your best at all times so that inspiration can be acted on. You might be half awake and boom a great idea for a video pops into your head and you are ready to take advantage of the moment.  Also, looking good makes you feel good and perform and produce well.

2.  “The Hollywood Secret”, have a new background every 7 seconds. You want to show movement in example of this is walking while filming your videos. Videos have action and movement and you want to show something unique.

3.  Create open loops.  Open loops are 80% of the story with 20% left unanswered. An example of this is when you tune into any local newscast and they tell you the lion’s share of the story and then say, “coming up next you’re going to see…” or “I’m going to show you…”

4.  Express your body language. You see body language has a high intimacy factor.  It provides way more potential to influence and connect with your prospect. Open yourself to non-verbal communication, such as your facial expressions, the set of your eyes, your posture, how you carry your shoulders and the clothes you wear.  All of these things are influencing people subconsciously in either winning them towards you or repelling them away from you.  Smile and smile a lot.  Look into the eye of the camera and connect your eyes to the center of the lens. Your posture, throw your shoulders back and be confident. So get your shoulders up, have a smile on your face, a crisp voice and eye contact.

5.  Drawing on a video is powerful. Whether you using an easel or a bamboo tablet on a screen capture; drawing locks in more senses and makes a deeper connection with your lead or prospect.

6.  The cadence of your voice is also important.  There should be an almost musical rhythm to your voice.  You don’t want to mumble and you want to be genuinely funny.  It is 100 times better to have a dramatic pause versus a “hum”, “um” or “you know”, as those words imply uncertainty and you searching for an answer.

7.  Do it enough. Shoot all types of How To videos, Training Illustrations and Life Style videos until it becomes second nature.  You will develop authenticity.  People will see and feel the value that you bring and follow you.

8.  Produce whole body of videos.  Videos that show you interacting with your family, your kids, your pets, dancing, singing to music, eating food and enjoying life.

9.  Create a proof show. People love seeing the before and the after end result.

1. When writing always use the KISS, keep it simple stupid method.

2. Use shorter and older words as you want to make sure that you understood by as many people as possible. In other words, write for the lowest grade level possible.

3. You may be wondering how do I find out what grade level I am writing at? If you’re using Microsoft Word go to tools, options, spelling and grammar and look for show readability index. It may be a little different for the many versions of Word, buy you get the general idea.

4. When writing your copy, think about and start with the prospect in mind and not the product. People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. When your focus is on their problem and not your product you will connect with that prospect and multiply your sales.

5. Make sure that your copy identifies and solves their problem. Think of the Radio Shack slogan, “You got questions, we have answers.” Remind them of their pain and reveal the solution to solving their problem as people respond more to pain than they do pleasure.

6. Back up the claims that you make as nobody buys unless they have belief.

7. If you’re in this business more than five minutes, you get bombarded with various e-mails on different programs and deals etc. Create a folder and save all of the subject lines, headlines and ads that catch your attention and use them as templates for your future Copywriting needs.

10 Magical Copywriting Words that help your copy have a deeper emotional reach

1. Free – Captures attention and curiosity. An amusing example of the power of the word Free is that of my youngest daughter, who worked at a local Dunkin Donuts that advertised, Free Wi-Fi. I can’t tell you how many Senior Citizens, while ordering would request to be given their Free Wi-Fi.

2. You and You’re – Passes ownership to the reader and increases your conversion rates.

3, 4 and 5. Announcing, Introducing and New – Typical Newscast words that convey that something is happening now that was not happening before.

6. Secret, Secrets – Are words that increase the intrigue and curiosity factor.

7. How to – People love learning and how to do X, Y and Z.

8. Guarantee, Guaranteed – Provides comfort, a feeling of security and assurance.

9. Magic, Magical – Excites and appeals to the brain.

10. Easy – Everyone loves easy. Just think about the popularity of the Staples Easy button.

Another MLM Secret is to use the 100 Greatest Headlines of all time as what is called a swipe file. The first step to establishing rapport and exploding your Network Marketing Business using Online and/or Offline Marketing strategies is mastering the ability to communicate with people in ways that they want to be communicated to.

In other words, “The Golden Rule, Do onto others as you would like others to do onto you,” needs to be replaced with Tony Allesandra’s “Platinum Rule”, “Do onto others, as they would have you do onto them.”

There are four basic personality styles, REDS, GREENS, BLUES and YELLOWS.

The basic characteristics of the different styles are as follows:
REDS – Decisive, Independent, Efficient, Practical and Determined.
GREENS – Analytical, Thorough, Persistent, Serious and Industrious.
BLUES – Stimulating, Enthusiastic, Dramatic, Outgoing and Personable.

Each personality style has a preferred way to connect with them, build a relationship and ultimately sponsors them into your business.

To successfully sponsor each personality type use the tips below.

RED – Be punctual, be prepared, and be confident.  Get to the what, the why and the how much as quickly as possible.  Focus on their goals and the outcomes that they want to achieve.  They love testimonials from experts.  Give them 2 or 3 options and let them choose.

GREENS – Slow down, take your time and build your solution step by step.  Give them the time to analyze, evaluate, and provide them the space to arrive at their own conclusions. They love data, test results, supporting evidence.  Show them where to get the information and ask them what they think.

BLUES – Get them talking.  They love success stories in the form of testimonials that save effort and make them look good in the eyes of the bosses or their spouse.  Sprinkle in some trial closes.  Get them talking on how your solution will benefit them and allow them to close themselves. Talk excited and get excited.  Talk about doing exciting things; like going scuba diving, sky diving, having fun, fun, fun! They’ll talk about vacations and family, but most of all they want to talk about fun things to do.

YELLOWS – Build trust first and provide them plenty of time to arrive at their decision.  Let them know how it is going to affect all involved.  Provide testimonials from people they trust.  Close them on small choices that lead up to the big decision.  Yellows do not want to be sold. They do not like pushy- aggressive salespeople and have the biggest sales shields.  Slow the pace, lower your volume, and contain your excitement.  Yellows see excitement as hype and become uncomfortable.  Instead visit with them and talk about their family, kids and how their vacation went.
